Evening Glow | Mentorship Final Project

For my mentorship term, I recreated this beautiful concept by Sergio Raposo. By being an indoor space, I had more control over the lighting and experiment with different moods. I matching the concept camera angle, distortion and mood. I gained a much deeper understanding of how to use the V-ray physical camera and how to control lighting through exposure stops. With different render layers and passes I was able to control compositing even more in Nuke, and it's its node-based workflow for both stills and motion sequences. I used Marvelous Designer for the curtains, blankets, and pillows, which helped add realism and detail to the scene. This added a new level of complexity and precision to my work that I’ve been eager to incorporate—and now I finally can. Modeled all the assets and painted the textures in Mari using their node based workflow. Overall, I’m very proud of what I accomplished this term and incredibly grateful for all the knowledge my mentor Alex Corll shared with me. I hope you enjoy this piece as much as I enjoyed creating it.
